GARDEN A
Irrigation method(s):

Tell us about your landscape:
We replaced all our lawn and added a small area for succulents that only get watered during hot periods. The lawn became a river of aqua rocks outlined by lava rocks and dark grey rocks filling in the open space. The focal point is a rock/water bubbler at the head of the river. LED lights accent the design.

Tell us about your landscape:
Gramma's garden of love was born during the stay-at-home period, year 2020, starting as a simple collection of succulents and Pacifica-friendly plants. Now, it showcases nature's diversity, from delicate fuchsia blooms to hardy succulents, and provides a haven for birds and bees.

Tell us about your landscape:
This was a DIY project for us. We chose black basalt 3/4” gravel since it’s the best for areas prone to wildfires, as they are combustible. Also, a better option for a fire-wise landscape, especially close to our house. We laid out stepping stones not only for decorative purposes but also for functionality and for a little depth.
We selected the right plants for our garden so they would thrive with minimal intervention and resources. We chose water-wise plants and plants that would flourish based on cold tolerance (9b-10b hardiness). Opted for climate-appropriate and drought-resistant species that will adapt to our temperature, humidity, and rainfall patterns.
Some of the plant species we used are... Agave Parryi Var Truncata ‘Artichoke Agave’, Yucca Magenta Magic, Yucca Silver Anniversary ‘Soapwort', Chondropetalum Elephantinum, Leucadendron ‘Safari Sunset’, Salvia Sage Bush and Agave.
We also considered factors like sun exposure, soil type, and drainage and conserving water so we can maintain a beautiful garden!
